To Cruise As A Pirate is a road trip, music documentary about the alternative-country band, Lonesome Heroes, from Austin, Texas. The film follows their van-camper, as they traverse the entirety of US Highway 287 from Port Arthur, Texas to Glacier National Park, Montana. A diverse set of band members are seen hitting every house party, church, and cowboy bar in sight, as they navigate a highway originally intended for travelers chasing the seasons north and the sun south. Essentially a how-to for up and coming bands on touring the US without the typical support a national act would receive. Lonesome Heroes show what it's like to self promote and perform an unconventional tour, that invariably leads to adventure and experience on the unpredictable road.
